Originally created in 1828 by Johann Gottlieb Boker, the company closed during Prohibition in the 1920s. Made with Overproof spirit and seven botanicals including orange peel, quassia bark, catechu, cardamom and mallow flowers. Maceration - Seven botanicals macerated in overproof spirit for no less than two weeks. Dilution -Diluted to bottling strength with Scottish water. Coloured with mallow flowers.

Colour/Nose - Copper coloured. Eucalyptus-pine and cardamom woody nose

Palate - Intensely bitter with cardamom, coffee and orange

Finish - Seemingly everlasting bitter finish with hints of coffee

Mixing Notes: 


50ml Both’s Old Tom
25ml Carpano Antica Formula
5ml Luxardo Maraschino
3DashesDr. Adam Elmegirab’s Boker’s Bitters

Method - Add all ingredients to mixing glass fill with cubed ice and stir for 15 seconds
Glass - Frozen coupette
Garnish - Lemon zest

A good addition to your bitters arsenal. A lasting herbal bitterness, with hints of anise. This leans away from the typical spicy warmth of many bitters, or the sharp fruitiness of others.
