Genus Name Cinnamomum cassia
Cinnamomum cassia, called Chinese cassia or Chinese cinnamon, originated in southern China and is widely cultivated there. It is also cultivated in both southern and eastern Asia (India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam). It is one of several species of Cinnamomum used for its aromatic bark. In Australia, the US & the UK, Chinese cassia is the most common type of cinnamon spice used.
It is found in many bitters, Vermouths and Amaros.
