This BC Vermouth is made in the style of a traditional Italian rosso vermouth, but with enough Vancouver Island character to stand on its own. Thirty-two different botanicals are precisely extracted into a continuously aged solera and then added to a fortified blueberry-blossom mead to create a sweet vermouth tailor made for classic cocktails like a Negroni, Martinez or Manhattan. Frequently enjoyed over ice, perhaps topped with sparkling water. As always, all of Esquimalt’s vermouths are made from mead, using 100% British Columbian blueberry-blossom honey.

About Esquimalt Vermouth & Aperitifs:

In 2015, Michela and Quinn Palmer, the founders of Rootside Soda, embarked on their journey by establishing a small soda company known for its use of fresh, natural ingredients in soda syrups. Their passion for vermouth and apéritifs was ignited through their work with Rootside. Over 2.5 years, they delved deep into botanical research, recipe development, and mead production, resulting in the launch of their Rosso Vermouth in July 2019, which quickly sold out. Their vermouth craft garnered recognition, with the Gold award at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirit Awards and a Double-Gold Award for their Rosso Vermouth, Dry Vermouth, and Kina-Rouge in 2021. In 2023, they achieved the pinnacle of success, winning World's Best Dry Vermouth and World's Best Semi-Sweet Vermouth at the World Vermouth Awards, promising a future filled with more unique and delightful creations for their fans.
