Dr. Adam Elmegirab's Winter Spiced Bitters 100ml [Limited Release]
Country of origin: Scotland Alcohol content: 45% Alcohol by Volume
Released in the latter part of 2017, Winter Spiced Bitters are the first new release following the move into the House of Botanicals and are a reintroduction of the seasonal range of products. Replacing their earlier Christmas Bitters offering, these have been created due to the large volume of requests for Dr. Adam Elmegirab to bring back a festive offering suited to the style of beverage typically consumed in climates where the nights are longer and the weather colder.
What will be an annual limited release bottling, Winter Spiced Bitters bring to life the flavours, aromas and botanicals commonly associated with the harsh winter season. Dried fruits, warm citrus, baking spices, fire, and wood smoke were all central to the desired flavour profile.
Smoke, wood, dried fruit, and rhubarb on the nose. Notes of smoky anise, sweet cranberry, clove, anise, and cacao with hints of burnt orange and complex spice. A lengthy, warming, and bitter finish with clove and cacao dominant.
Pair with aged spirits, fortified wines, amari, lemon, orange, cream, egg nog, dried fruits, toddies, caramel, maple, cinnamon, chicory, coffee, or ginger beer.
About The House of Botanicals:
Situated underneath Aberdeen’s railway line and next door to its largest shopping centre, Union Square, The House of Botanicals is a 2500 square foot unit which is a combination of gin distillery, liqueurist, bitters manufactory, tasting room and shop. While now producing a range of products, it all started in the late 2000s with The Jerry Thomas Project—an endeavour by Adam Elan-Elmigirab to recreate all the drinks from Professor Thomas’ seminal tome The Bon-Vivant's Companion. It was this venture which conceived the reformulation of Boker’s Bitters, and later Dr. Adam Elmegirab’s Bitters Ltd; now trading as The House of Botanicals.
