Created in 2017 this tropical-tinged vermouth from the experts at Belsazar, melding Riesling from Ernst Loosen's vineyards with a mix of botanicals including the decidedly untraditional Azores pineapple – an intensely flavoured and fragrant fruit from the volcanic Atlantic islands of the same name. The result is a tropical-fruit-forward vermouth, with grapefruit and peppermint notes balanced by pineapple notes and a tart finish.

Rich taste of pineapple and tropical fruit is balanced with by tart grapefruit, acidity from wine and bitterness from wormwood.

Aboout Belsazar Vermouth

Macerates are what give Belsazar its complex flavour. The extracts from herbs, spices, blossom and husks are as varied as Berlin’s neighbourhoods.  The subtle sweetness of Belsazar comes from adding Black Forest grape must. To stop the must from fermenting, it is refined with brandy that has been left to mature in oak casks. This is where the slight hint of sherry comes from. The Schladerer distillery has been producing fruit brandies using only natural ingredients since 1844. The ageing process can take up to three months. Their vermouth is stored in neutral casks to allow the liquid to develop its range of complex aromas.
