The Original Pink Gin Infused with Bitters

Pink Gin started life as a seafarer's breakfast, drunk to fortify one's consitution against the wiles of the ocean. Sailors of the Royal Navy would combine gin and bitters in an effort to cure seasickness; bitters were known as a digestive tonic at the time and paired marvellously with the navy gin ration. Following from this historical origin, The Bitter Truth Pink Gin is a delicious blend of traditionally crafted gin and aromatic bitters.

Using a Mediterranean botanical mix, this gin opens with juniper, lemon, and warm spices. Wonderfully calm in the mouth, juniper is still at the helm but supported by a crew of fresh spice flavours like liquorice, caraway, and fennel which cruise to a smooth whirlpool finish.

As Pink Gin is itself a cocktail, this gin can simply be stirred with ice and served up or on the rocks, garnished with a lemon twist. Any drink that calls for both gin and bitters, or just gin, can benefit from the addition of this carefully blended mix of bitters and botanicals.

About The Bitter Truth:

Munich bartenders Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck were already experienced in making handmade bitters at the bars they worked at when they decided to produce cocktail bitters to supply the burgeoning revival of historical and craft cocktails. Stephan owned a large collection of contemporary and historical bitters, some of which hadn’t been produced for decades. Thus he knew what the most well-known bitters of the world, past and present, tasted like and was considered a specialist in the area. Since 2006 The Bitter Truth has been producing bitters using the classic method of macerating roots, seeds, barks, fruits, herbs, and plants in an alcohol base. The design of the bitters bottle refers to old medicine bottles from the 19th century and the label was designed with old-fashioned floral ornaments reminiscent of the golden age of cocktails.
