5 Ways to Use Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello

It’s no secret that we are huge fans of the range of mead based drinks from the team at Esquimalt Vermouth & Apéritifs. So we wanted to take a closer look at their range and give you some ideas of how to use them in cocktails.
First up is their superb Vino Miele Limoncello, it’s packed with zippy lemon peel & sorbet flavours that makes for an excellent drinking experience. Here are some of the ways you can use it in your cocktail making.

Shake up a Sour
Tart, textural, and so easy to make, sours are a great go-to for playing around with new ingredients. This one features limoncello, backed up by gin and a little honey syrup.
45ml Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello
15ml gin
30ml lemon Juice
15ml honey syrup
5 drops of Wonderfoam Cocktail Foamer
Add everything to a shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel.
Spritz it!
Just three ingredients and no shaking required makes this so easy to make. Great for scaling up and making in a jug for a group. Before dinner spritz anyone?
60ml Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello
90ml sparkling wine
30ml soda
Pour ingredients into a wine glass. Fill with ice and stir to combine. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
Make a Martini
Effectively a Perfect Martini with limoncello swapping in for the sweet vermouth. This is an excellent gateway drink, great if you are Martini curious.
45ml gin
15ml Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello
15ml Esquimalt Dry Vermouth
3 dashes of Rootside Orange Bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Make a Margarita
Everyone loves a Margarita, and this recipe is no exception. Limoncello reinforced with lemon juice instead of lime, think Margarita on a Mediterranean holiday.
30ml blanco tequila
30ml Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello
30ml lemon juice
Add all ingredients to a shaker. Shake with ice and double strain into a salt-rimmed short glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
Make a Twist on an Americano
Swapping limoncello for the sweet vermouth gives a lighter, more approachable twist on the bitter classic.
30ml Esquimalt Vino Miele Limoncello
30ml Esquimalt Bitter Red Americano
soda water
Add limoncello & bitter to a tall glass. Fill with ice and top with soda water. Stir to combine. Garnish with a lemon slice.
