Earl Grey: This versatile bitter is excellent in a variety of spirits. It is bergamot forward and incredibly aromatic with multiple layers.

The best of the bergamot bitters to dateBy: Warwick Raverty on 9 September 2019Earl Grey tea is infused with oil of bergamot - a citrus fruit commonly grown in Sicily. Bergamot is one of my favourite flavours and i have reviewed three so-called bergamot bitters on this website previously. All were very disappointing to my taste buds and none of them captured the true taste of bergamot. The Earl Grey Bitters product is a great improvement over the other three that I've tasted. It does capture much of the flavour of bergamot but still could be improved. As the product name indicates, this bitters also has a mild taste of tea which I find quite pleasant mixed with Indian tonic water.
