A historical recreation of one of the Belle Époque's most famous advertising subjects; Maurin Quina is an aromatised wine featuring cherries and cinchona bark blended with white wine and a touch of lemon.

The flavours articulate with lingering finesse revealing fruit (wild berry, lemon) and floral notes that progress with a solid, tart display of bitter, earthy floral tones.

Perfect over ice, with soda, or neat. Can be used in place of a cherry liqueur to provide a dry herbal edge to your drinks, or as a fruitier alternative to other Quinquinas.

About

There’s a little devilry in any alcoholic beverage - and Cappiello, an Italian master of poster design, used infernal imagery in a number of liquor promotions. This poster, created in 1906, is the artist’s most famous one: a sneaky green demon un-corking a bottle of Maurin Quina. This French absinthe aperitif was produced by Maurin-Brenas of Le Puy, a business founded by Auguste Maurin, who in 1884 opened a distillery in Esplay in the Haute-Loire district. This product was actually banned by the French government soon after it was released!
