Originating in New Zealand, and now crafted on both sides of the Tasman, Only Bitters are excited to offer Sin-kō-nah's quality tonic syrup: a bittersweet mixer for the discerning drinker.

Following a recipe formulated in the 1820s, the tonic is infused with cinchona bark—the natural source of quinine—imparting a uniquely bitter flavour and distinctive colour. Tonic syrup as we know it was originally concocted by officers serving in British India to ease fever and ward off malaria. Mixed with soda and gin, this highball cocktail became an icon of the colonial Empire.

Sin-kō-nah tonic syrup returns this refreshing tipple to authenticity, curing thirst and enlivening cocktails—alcoholic & non-alcoholic alike.

A juniper infusion works beautifully alongside citrus zest and a heavy dose of cinchona bark that complements most gins. Its concentrated quinine content makes this a handy syrup for people looking to play with their ratio of tonic to gin.

Pairing Suggestion: Melbourne Gin Company, West Winds Sabre, Herno, Never Never Southern Strength, Plymouth Navy Strength, or Brogan's Way Royal Blood.

About Sin-kō-nah:

Sin-kō-nah tonic syrup is the product of a small, family-run business based in Auckland, New Zealand. They believe in doing things with care and hand-craft their syrup with locally grown citrus... and local juniper when available! The family comes from orchardist roots and has a policy to support other small businesses wherever possible. One of the characteristics they sought to create in the product are minimal sugar levels—two of the family are type 2 diabetics. They wanted to create a delicious, adult mixer drink that contained no artificial sweetener and are proud to have done so.

Please refrigerate after opening.

Contains quinine.

I am addicted to this fabulous syrup and drink it with sparkling water as I live alcohol free. Unfortunately I can’t get it in New Zealand so it’s great to have you to buy from during the NZ drought!

So good

I love this tonic syrup, I do have a little more than the recommended 20ml. I'll go equal parts gin and tonic syrup. The syrup makes a lovely g&t and all my friends are getting onto this as well. I find it's much stronger than some of the other tonic syrups and I also find it's the one I go back too all the time. Love it.
