John only uses the finest ingredients to produce a more distinct, elevated, tonic water experience.  Prepared in small batches to guarantee consistent, high quality syrup. He sources organic, natural and fresh ingredients and prepares them in a commercial, state inspected facility.  Organic Amber Agave Nectar offers a mild sweetness that allows a premium gin or vodka to stand out, while complimenting the natural Cinchona Bark (Quinine), herbs and spices.

Tasting Notes:

The quinine strikes first waking up the taste buds, layered citrus notes follow and linger into a pleasant subtle sweet that finishes on the edge of your tongue.  No thick sweetness drowning out the tart.  The Agave nectar allows the complexity to shine through.

Mixing Notes:

1/2 oz. syrup for every 3 oz. soda water.

Perfect G&T

Fill a 10 oz. glass with ice. Add 1.5oz. gin and 0.5oz. syrup. Top with soda water.

Overall disappointing

I find John's Premium Tonic Syrup unpleasant to the taste when mixed with soda water., Mixed with soda water and gin (Tankeray) it provides an acceptable gin and tonic, but there are less expensive options. It does not go well with soda and Campari. Overall I prefer the Organic Tonic Syrup made by the Soda Press Company to John's Tonic and it's less than half the p[rice.

Subtle. Maybe too subtle.

It looks great – tiny bits of sediment give it an authentic feel. But for me it's a bit too light. Even using twice the recommended quantity, this was sweet and refreshing, but without the flavourful complexity of a Bittermilk or the wow-factor bitterness of the Sin-Ko-Nah.

Nice results using it to smarten up a soda on a warm afternoon, and a good intro to tonic syrups for people who don't like things too bitter.

Fantastic product. For a person sick and tired of sub-quality tonic water filled with sugar with no authenticity, finding this syrup was fantastic. Just mix with your favourite gin, add sparkling water (or make your own), and you are good to go.

Very refreshing, have purchased again, highly recommended.
