This gin was originally the result of a conversation between Cameron (Four Pilar's distiller) and Jason (one of the World’s Top Ten Bartenders) back in 2014 - they wanted to create a gin specifically for the Negroni, to cut through the Campari and vermouth.
And now in the centenary year of the Negroni they've given this cult classic (the only such gin in the world) a bold new label, celebrating their love for the Negroni and its Italian heritage.
Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin is a highly aromatic, rich and (yes) spicy gin with great power and intensity. They use spices like Tasmanian pepperberry leaf, cinnamon, West African spice grains of paradise and Indonesian cubeb to up the ante. Plus there some fresh ginger to the botanical basket to help lift the spice, and they opened up the plates to add weight and intensity to the gin.
The Spiced Negroni Gin has been awarded Master status at the Global Gin Masters two years in a row (2017 and 2018), and gold in Stuttgart (2018) and Hong Kong (2016).
About Four Pillars:
Four Pillars Distillery was established with a clear purpose in mind. They wanted to elevate the craft of distilling in Australia and celebrate the art of cocktail making.
The founders of Four Pillars (three bald pillars: Stu, Matt and Cam) have always loved gin and cocktails. And Cam and Stu have worked in wine for more years than they’d care to remember.
Their drive to create Four Pillars can be summed up as follows: "We just love great drinks, we love cocktails, and we love craft."
Then followed years of research, test-distilling, importing and commissioning a bespoke copper pot still, filing forms with the government, sourcing the best botanicals from across Australia and around the world, and custom-making an amazing bottle to finally bring you Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin in December 2013.
Crafted in a truly modern Australian style their first release gin captures the flavours of both Asia and the Mediterranean. Four Pillars Distillery uses a copper pot still from CARL Artisan Stills in Germany, and produces in small batches of just 460 bottles which are then individually numbered and labeled.
