Here is a lip balm for when you're looking for something a little different. People thought we were crazy to create a bourbon-inspired lip balm but we're thrilled to say that our certified organic Old Fashioned lip balm is now our signature product and best seller. 

Scented with cedar, bitter orange and a touch of vanilla, cinnamon and black pepper, the balm is reminiscent of the bourbon, cedar chests and grandfather's pipe. We recommend applying this as you settle in by the fire, sip on your night cap or read a Hemingway novel. TIKI LIP BALM WITH MANDARIN ORANGE

They combine naturally fragrant virgin coconut oil with a little mandarin essential oil to create a balm that's reminiscent of a tiki drink, without the hangover. Think of it as a beach vacation in a tube.

NEGRONI BALM

When Campari first asked Stewart & Claire to create a Negroni lip balm, they thought it was impossible. You see, this cocktail contains only three ingredients, but each one (gin, Campari and sweet vermouth) includes who-knows-how-many secret botanicals. After a lot of tinkering, they came up with a spiced orange and juniper-scented lip balm that does the Negroni justice. 

Ingredients: Beeswax, jojoba, safflower oil, shea butter, castor oil, gentian root, essential oils of sweet orange, bitter orange, juniper, clove and peru balsam.

 

CHOCOLATE LIP BALM WITH ASKNINOSIE COCOA POWDER

A LITTLE CHOCOLATE FOR YOUR LIPS NOT YOUR HIPS.

They blend cocoa powder from Askinosie, one of the best U.S. bean-to-bar chocolate makers, and with organic, fair-trade cocoa powder to craft a lip balm that smells (and, well, tastes) like the best bar of chocolate, minus the sugar. This lip balm was created in partnership with Short Stack Editions, a series of design-minded, small-format cookbooks. Thanks to the addition of organic jojoba and safflower oil, this balm will moisturize and protect your lips even in the harshest climates.

• Askinosie sources beans for its cocoa powder directly from a grower in Davao, Philippines, where the company collaborates with a local school to create a Sustainable Lunch Program. CHOCOLATE HALVA LIP BALM

A LITTLE DESSERT FOR YOUR LIPS NOT YOUR HIPS.

Molly Yeh of the blog My Name is Yeh is one of Stewart & Claire's biggest fans, so when she asked them to make a Chocolate Halva lip balm to go along with her new book, they couldn't refuse. This balm is chocolatey-rich with a lovely toasted sesame note. The label is based on the illustrations in her book by Lisel Jane Ashlock.

Stewart & Claire make lip balms that elevate the everyday. 

While drinking well-made martinis, it occurred to co-founder Kristin Donnelly that mixing cocktails is a lot like blending ingredients to create lip balm. After a year or so of tinkering, she developed a line of organic, all-natural lip balms that her lips liked better than others on the market. 

A cookbook author and former Food & Wine magazine editor, Kristin knew that with any kind of alchemy, it was important to start with great ingredients; in the case of the lip balm, she uses organic oils and butters and golden beeswax. In a market flooded with bubblegummy scents, she wanted something more subtle, more grown-up, inspired by everything from cocktails to the seasons. Instead of using flavor oils made in a lab, she uses pure essential oils distilled from botanicals.

For sensitive lips, Stewart & Claire offers a Bare balm, with no added scent at all. 

After she settled on her formulas, she needed a name. She and her husband, co-founder Phil Cooper, cycled through lots of ideas, and then one night, over dinner, he said, "What about our middle names?" And thus, Stewart & Claire was born.

They launched their little company in Manhattan in 2011 and soon after moved to Brooklyn. They recently relocated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where they continue to create new products and sneak in the occasional cocktail while raising their small daughter.
