“G&T PERFECTED” – The Tasting Panel

Tasting Notes:

Liber & Co's Spiced Tonic Syrup isn’t subtle – they elevate the traditional flavour profile of tonic with fresh botanicals and cracked spices to make it far bolder than typical tonic waters.

Real cinchona tree bark from Latin America provides an authentic quinine bite, an exotic blend of South Asian herbs and spices pays homage to tonic’s roots in Colonial India, and organic agave nectar balances the flavor for a mildly sweet finish. Liber & Co brew their Spiced Tonic Syrup as an uncarbonated concentrate. This makes it extend well beyond G & Ts as a general cocktail mixer that provides remarkable depth of flavor. Below are some of favourite recipes for it.

About Liber & Co:

Liber & Co started by three friends. They like the creative license that comes with doing things themselves, and they make cocktail ingredients that they enjoy.

At the start, they just set out to make a concentrated tonic from scratch – something that could build a bolder, more authentic gin and tonic. After experimenting over a summer, they had their recipe. The process of innovation hooked them, so they founded Liber & Co. in late 2011 on the belief that small artisans need only offer a handful of outstanding products to become established. They are a small-batch operation out of Austin, TX. All of their products are made from scratch by the three of them, using raw ingredients like ripe citrus, fresh-cut botanicals, and hand-cracked spices. They find that this production style and these ingredients guarantee them the kind of bold and genuine flavors that work best in drinks.

  1. Spicey - the name says it all

Posted by Matt on 17th Jan 2014

I tasted Liber & Co Spiced Tonic alongside the C&B syrup for comparison. Where the C&B was heavy on the citrus, the Liber & co was loaded up on spice.

A More 'traditional' tonic flavour, im guessing cardomom and all spice gave it that strong medicinal aroma.

It was great with Tanqueray and I think matched better with the Gin than C&Bs.

For those that enjoy a traditional G&T with a kick more spice.
