Shrubs (drinking vinegars), originally medicinal cordials, became popular among alcohol smugglers! To avoid detection, smugglers would sometimes sink barrels of spirits off-shore to be retrieved later and the addition of shrubs to the alcohol masked the briny flavour of sea water.  

This one pairs nicely with the 18.21 Ginger Beer.  It plays well with Fernet, Applejack Brandy, Whiskeys and Bourbons and Fortified Wines!
